Jawa Pos (lit. 'Java Post') is an Indonesian national daily newspaper based in Surabaya, East Java. [2] Jawa Pos was launched by Suseno Tedjo or The Chung Shen on July 1, 1949. The parent company, "Jawa Pos Group", is owned by Indonesian media tycoon Dahlan Iskan. The newspaper's motto is Selalu Ada yang Baru! (There's always something new!).
It was published by PT Indopos Intermedia Press, a subsidiary of Jawa Pos Group. Indopos at the time was considered as "the Jakarta version of Jawa Pos", as Jawa Pos is also owned a number of local newspapers across the country. Dahlan Iskan (born 17 August 1951 in Magetan) is the former CEO of Indonesian newspaper publisher, Jawa Pos Group. He was the CEO of Indonesia's State Electricity Company from 23 December 2009 to 19 October 2011. [1] He was Indonesia's Minister of State-Owned Enterprises in the period October 2011 to October 2014.
