Green Valley is a master planned community located in Henderson, Nevada, and Southern Nevada's first master-planned community built before Summerlin. [1] The Green Valley Master Community development was founded in 1978 by American Nevada Corporation in an area of 8,400 acres (34 km 2) in the southeast part of the Las Vegas Valley.
Henderson is the location for 29 elementary schools, nine middle schools, and nine high schools. Five of the nine high schools are public schools, including Basic, Coronado, Green Valley, Foothill, and Liberty. The remaining four are private college preparatory schools, including the Henderson International School.
Sector J includes unincorporated areas of Henderson. Spring Valley (Sectors P)—serves areas west of Interstate 15, south of Charleston Boulevard and north of Flamingo Road. Also includes Chinatown. Enterprise (Sectors O and S)—this area serves mostly the southwest valley west of I-15 and south of Flamingo Road.
