The Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena (formerly the UMBC Event Center) is a basketball arena, concert and multi-purpose event venue on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in Catonsville, Maryland.
It is home to the Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the Loyola women's volleyball team. Its seating capacity is 2,100. [ 1 ] The arena, adjoining the Andrew White Student Center, has fully retractable seating on both sidelines of the arena to create a full sized ballroom.
Retriever Activities Center is a 4,024-seat multi-purpose arena in Catonsville, Maryland.The arena opened in 1973. It was home to the UMBC Retrievers basketball and volleyball teams, which represent the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in NCAA Division I athletics, from its opening until the larger Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena opened on campus in February 2018. [1]
When this naming rights agreement ended in 2013, the arena returned to its "Baltimore Arena" name until convenience store chain Royal Farms purchased the naming rights in September 2014; [2] the arena was known as Royal Farms Arena until 2022. After an extensive renovation, the venue reopened as CFG Bank Arena in February 2023.
