In 1957, St. Theresa's College of Cebu became a Charter Member of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) and has satisfactorily maintained its accredited status. St. Theresa's College, High School Department was accredited in 1970 and reaccredited in 1973, 1979, 1985, 1991, 1995, and 2005.
The courses offered then in the college were Bachelor of Science in Arts, Commerce and Education, Secretarial and Home Arts. In 1972, Siena College phased out the traditional four-year courses and retained only the Secretarial and Special Home Arts courses. In lieu of these, terminal courses were offered and the ladder-type curriculum was adopted.
On October 19, 1981, the school was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as Southern Philippines Academy, now Southern de Oro Philippines College, in its Articles of Incorporation under SEC. Reg. No. 101440.
