In 1990, Karmann introduced a Karmann Ghia-inspired concept car – the Karmann Coupe – at the Frankfurt Motor Show, [24] and in April 2013 Karmann Ghia do Brasil launched a competition for Brazilian students to design a modern interpretation of the classic Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia Coupé, possibly leading to the development of a prototype. The Volkswagen Type 3 is a compact car manufactured and marketed by Volkswagen from 1961 to 1973. The company began introducing new models based on the Type 1, all with the same basic air-cooled, rear-engine, rear-drive platform. The Norseman was designed by the Chrysler Corporation Engineering Division and built by Ghia of Turin, Italy. [2] Ghia had experience in the construction of low-volume vehicles and one-off prototypes. Chrysler wanted a fully drivable vehicle, not just a rolling mockup, so all normal systems for the powertrain, braking, suspension, were installed.
