"If Today Was Your Last Day" is the third single from Nickelback's sixth studio album Dark Horse. It was originally planned as the first single, to hit all U.S. radio formats September 30, 2008, [1] [2] but was scrapped as the first single in favour of "Gotta Be Somebody". [3] Instead it was released on March 31, 2009.
The song was written by the band and Mutt Lange. It was released March 23, 2009. "If Today Was Your Last Day" served as the third single instead in North America (after "Gotta Be Somebody" and the rock radio-only single "Something in Your Mouth"). The first single from the album was "Gotta Be Somebody", which was released online for free digital download on September 29, 2008, for a strict 24-hour period. [5] "If Today Was Your Last Day" had been planned as the lead single but was scrapped at the last minute.
The song is the second single released from his second studio album, Good Guys.
