Vilas is an unincorporated community in Watauga County, North Carolina, United States. The community is located at Linville Creek, along U.S. Route 321 and U.S. Route 421, 5.6 miles (9.0 km) west-northwest of Boone. The Vilas post office, with ZIP code 28692, was established in 1885. [3] [4] [5]

The Outer Banks (frequently abbreviated OBX) are a 200 mi (320 km) string of barrier islands and spits off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia, on the east coast of the United States. They line most of the North Carolina coastline, separating Currituck Sound, Albemarle Sound, and Pamlico Sound from the Atlantic Ocean.
The District of Columbia does not currently have a true beach; several areas (such as Georgetown Waterfront Park) have boundaries along the Potomac river, but lack a true beach. From 1914 to 1925, there was a beach at the District of Columbia’s Tidal Basin. [1]
