The hospital was created by the merging of the Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital in 2003. The Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital (RBWH) is the largest public hospital in Queensland, with a total of 955 beds and almost 10,000 staff.
