In the township the population was spread out, with 30.5% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years.
The town began celebrating the arrival of the birds in 1957, and today as many as 50,000 visitors visit the Hinckley Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks in the town annually on "Buzzard Day" to witness the return of the avian residents.
