The 2024 Women's Amputee Football World Cup was a WAFF tournament held in Barranquilla, Colombia from 4 to 10 November 2024. [1] Games were held at Romelio Martínez Stadium and San Isidro Stadium. This inaugural amputee football event was the first time that women had competed separately from men. [2] The event was streamed live at YouTube.
It is organized by the World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF). [4] It was first held in Seattle, USA, in 1984. [5] The current champion is Turkey who beat Angola 4-1 in the 2022 final. [6] The first Women's Amputee World Cup will be held in 2024.
The season began with the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup, a supercup match between the reigning playoff champion (NJ/NY Gotham FC) and NWSL Shield winner San Diego Wave FC, on March 15, 2024.
