The North–South Freeway is the main north–south highway through Milwaukee. It runs roughly parallel to the coast of Lake Michigan. As it enters the Milwaukee metropolitan area, it carries I-41 and I-94. At the interchange with I-894, the Mitchell Interchange, I-41 leaves away and I-43 enters the roadway.

U.S. Highway 45 (US 45) runs north–south through the eastern and northern portions of the state of Wisconsin.Also called Highway 45, it runs from the state line with Illinois near the village of Bristol in Kenosha County to the Michigan state line at the town of Land O' Lakes in Vilas County, a total of about 305 miles (491 km).

SR 60 provides a route across several spurs of the Peninsular Ranges, linking the Los Angeles Basin with the Pomona Valley and San Gabriel Valley. The highway also runs concurrently with SR 57 and I-215. Portions of SR 60 are designated as either the Pomona Freeway or the Moreno Valley Freeway.
