The beautiful sunbird (Cinnyris pulchellus), formerly placed in the genus Nectarinia, is a small passerine bird in the sunbird family Nectariniidae.It is native to tropical Africa, its range extending from Senegal and Guinea in the west to Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Kenya in the east.

Hilary Fry, Stuart Keith and Emil Urban, and each volume contains colour plates painted by Martin Woodcock [1] The series ended with the 8th volume in 2013 and shortly after in August 2014 publisher Academic Press confirmed that they would no longer be reprinting the first 7 volumes.
