The American Hospital of Paris was founded in 1906. Seven years later the United States Congress recognized the hospital under Title 36 of the United States Code on January 30, 1913. Greater Paris University Hospitals [1] (French: Assistance publique–hôpitaux de Paris [asistɑ̃s pyblik opito də paʁi], AP-HP) is the university hospital trust operating in Paris and its surroundings. It is the largest hospital system in Europe and one of the largest in the world.
