"Homer's Triple Bypass" is the eleventh episode of the fourth season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. It originally aired on Fox in the United States on December 17, 1992. In this episode, Homer suffers a heart attack due to his very poor health and diet.
Life in Hell is a comic strip by Matt Groening that was published weekly from 1977 to 2012. Its main characters include anthropomorphic rabbits and a gay couple. The comic covers a wide range of subjects, such as love, sex, work, and death, and explores themes of angst, social alienation, self-loathing, and fear of inevitable doom.
Matthew Abram Groening (/ ˈ ɡ r eɪ n ɪ ŋ / GRAY-ning; born February 15, 1954) is an American cartoonist, writer, producer, and animator.He is best known as the creator of the television series The Simpsons (1989–present), Futurama (1999–2003, 2008–2013, 2023–present), [1] and Disenchantment (2018–2023), and the comic strip Life in Hell (1977–2012).
Central Michigan Life ' s John Thorpe named it the tenth best episode of the series, and wrote: "The best part comes when Homer decides not to eat the last part of the doughnut, thus saving him from hell. Hilarious." [14] DVD Talk's Bill Gibron gave the episode a 4 out of 5 score. [15]
Each episode is told as four short stories, one for each branch of the Short family. On May 12, 2018, CBS renewed the series for a fourth season, [1] which aired from on April 18 to June 27, 2019. [2] During the course of the series, 79 episodes of Life in Pieces aired over four seasons, from September 21, 2015 to June 27, 2019.

Both Reed Diamond and Max Perlich joined the cast as Detective Mike Kellerman and J.H. Brodie, respectively. During the season, Diamond was credited as a main cast member while Perlich was a recurring cast member. The character of J.H. Brodie was supposedly based on David Simon. [26] Season 4 also saw the debut of Peter Gerety as Stuart Gharty.
