The Bombardier Global Express is a large cabin, long-range business jet designed and manufactured by Bombardier Aviation. Announced in October 1991, it first flew in October 1996, received its Canadian type certification in July 1998 and entered service in July 1999.
The Global 8000 was initially a shorter, three-zone aircraft but was updated in May 2022 as a four-zone jet similar to the Global 7500, reaching 8,000 nmi (14,800 km) and with a top speed of Mach 0.94, making it the fastest business jet and fastest civilian aircraft since Concorde. The Global 8000 is scheduled to be introduced in 2025.
The jet was later stretched into the Bombardier CRJ regional airliner, introduced on 19 October 1992, and the longer range Global Express, introduced in July 1999. The 500th Challenger was rolled out in May 2000, and the 1000th was delivered to NetJets in December 2015. By October 2018, 1,066 aircraft had been built.
