Boon Kuan, Boon Tim, Boon Siew, Boon Cheng Tan Sri Dato' Sri Lee Kim Sai ( simplified Chinese : 李金狮 ; traditional Chinese : 李金獅 ; pinyin : Lǐ Jīnshī ) (1 March 1937 – 24 November 2019) was a Malaysian politician.
In the 1950s, Boon Siew went into property development with his friends Say Bee and Poh Heng by building residential villas in Taman Saw Kit in Penang. His work is continued by his Boon Siew Group. Boon Siew arranged to meet with Mr. Soichiro Honda, the Honda Super Cub's creator, and quickly convinced him to set up a Honda subsidiary in Malaysia.
The recipient of this award receives the title Tan Sri and his wife Puan Sri. This award was limited to 250 living recipients only at any time, excluding foreign citizens who receive it as an honorary award. The badge and the design of the star are similar to that of the Grand Commander but smaller.
Lim Swee Aun, Dr. Tan Cheng Leng and the Parsi Jal Manecksha also secretly helped the Indian Prisoners of War of the Motor Transport Unit No. 1 under the Command of Subedar Nurud Din. They contributed a sum of $15,000/- to Dr. Tarlok Singh to help them buy medicine and food for the sick Indian prisoners of war.
