Des Plaines is one of two commuter railroad stations on Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line in Des Plaines, Illinois. The station is located at 1501 Miner Street , and lies 16.7 miles (26.9 km) from the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. [2] In Metra's zone-based fare system, Des Plaines is in zone 3.
The station was known as Des Plaines until 1994. It is also referred to as the Forest Park Transit Center by Pace because it is a major terminal for Pace buses. [ 2 ] The station contains a 1,051-space Park and Ride lot which uses the "Pay and Display" system, in which fees are paid at the lot entrance.
