Numbers and classifications are posted on signs at intersections as well as on trail maps that can be viewed on several kiosks on the property or purchased at a trailhead. Partridge is an unincorporated community in Letcher County, Kentucky, United States. It is located 8.6 miles (13.9 km) southwest of Whitesburg. [ 2 ] Its Post office was established in 1869 and moved to a different location in 1923. [ 3 ]
Letcher County is located in the far southeast of Kentucky. Most of its border is defined by mountains. The 125-mile long Pine Mountain divides the county, and defines part of the county's border with Harlan County and Virginia. To the south, Black Mountain marks its border with Virginia. [19] [20]
