Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy is a performing arts organization in Bengaluru, India that is sponsored by the Department of Kannada and Culture in the Karnataka government. It was previously known as Karnataka Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. [1] [2] The academy promotes dance, drama and music within the culture of Karnataka.

He was a member of the Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy, a Karnataka government institution. He organized music oriented social events such as sugama sangeetha seminars, recognition tof historic musicians and music competitions. He also organized a music workshop for the benefit of inmates of a Bangalore prison.
S. Narmada (22 September 1942 – 30 March 2007) popularly known as Guru Narmada was a Bharatanatyam exponent and teacher from Karnataka, India.She received several awards including Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy Award, Rajyotsava Prashasti and Shantala Natya Sri Award.

Among several accolades that he received were the Sangeeta Nritya Academy award from the Government of Karnataka, Surashri, Gaana Bhaskar, Smt Vatsala Tai Joshi Award by the hands of Legendary Dr. Prabha Atre, Gaana Kala Tilaka and the Yashavant Rao Chauhan Samata Gaurav Puraskar.
[4] [5] Commissioned by the Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy, he compiled and edited a series of books on artists of various music genres hailing from Karnataka, titled Namma Sangita Kalavidaru. [6] [7] He also compiled the "Namma Sugama Sangeetha Kalavidaru" and "Namma Nritya Kalavidaru" for the same organization.
