The GM Technical Center was inaugurated in 1956 as General Motors's primary design and engineering center, located in Warren, Michigan. In 2000 the center was listed on the National Register of Historic Places , and fourteen years later it was designated a National Historic Landmark , primarily for its architecture.
The Sherwood post office closed on December 4, 1866. The nearby Newstead post office, which was established in early 1867, was transferred here and took over the Sherwood name on April 16, 1868. The Michigan Central Railroad built a line through the community in 1871. Sherwood incorporated as a village in 1887.
Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Emporium was founded by Marvin Yagoda, a pharmacist who collected, restored, and sold antique arcade machines. [6] Yagoda initially housed his collections in his garage, but at the suggestion of his wife, he installed some of his machines in the food court of the Tally Hall shopping center in Farmington Hills, Michigan in the early 1980s.
