    Challenging the uncited claim HMOs were widespread claim: Actually, in the 90s, HMOs seriously declined, generally becoming/splitting into insurers and independent health care facilities. What were once HMOs now seem to be referred to as "integrated health". I say this as an observer of the HMOs in New England, and a former client/patient of MTHP.
