Taekwondo competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 19 to 22 at the Hershey Centre (Mississauga Sports Centre) in Mississauga. Park Jung-tae (c. 1943 – 11 April 2002) was a South Korean master of taekwondo and a pioneer of that martial art in Canada. [1] [2] [3] He was one of the twelve original masters of taekwondo of the Korea Taekwon-Do Association. [4] [5] Following a career in the South Korean military, Park emigrated to Canada in 1970.
Choi was born around 1941 in Korea, during the period of Japanese occupation.He began training in the martial arts in 1956, studying taekwondo and karate under instructors Hong and Kim in the South Korean army, and subsequently trained under Lim Woo-jong, Director of Taekwondo for the Korean 1st Army.
