P4 (pe fyra) is a national radio channel produced by the Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Radio.P4 was started in 1987 as a network of regional stations, but national programming was added in 1993 when P3 was relaunched as a specialist youth channel and P4 took over a large part of P3's former programming intended for a more adult audience.

Dagens Eko ("Echo of the day") – often shortened to Ekot ("The echo") – is the news service of Swedish national radio broadcaster Sveriges Radio.It provides news bulletins of variable length which are known as Ekonyheter ("Echo news") and broadcast at the top of most hours on the P1 and P4 networks.
Vaken med P3 & P4 is the daily six-hour overnight show. It is a simulcast with SR P4. P3 Nyheter is a two-minute news summary, broadcasting Mondays to Fridays between 6.30 AM and 6.00 PM. At all other times, Ekot is in charge of the news coverage.

[1] It covers current affairs from all over the country by using a compilation of reports from the regional news programs of SVT. It is a sister programme to Landet runt, which is broadcast from Gothenburg on SVT1 on Sunday evening.
