Compton Unified School District is a school district headquartered in Compton, California, United States. The district serves almost all of Compton, all of East Rancho Dominguez , most of Willowbrook CDP , portions of Carson , Lynwood , West Rancho Dominguez CDP , and a small sliver of Paramount .
Centennial High School is designated by the Compton Unified School District as a Title I school. For over 5 years, the school has remained a Program Improvement (PI) school. [7] [8] As of the 2009-2010 school year, Centennial is in state rank 1 and also ranks 1 with similar schools. [9] [10] [11]

The school opened in 1896 as Compton Union High School and was later re-established as Compton Senior High School in the 1950s after Compton College separated from the high school district and opened its new campus at 1111 East Artesia Boulevard in 1953.

Compton College is a public community college in Compton, California. From 2006, when it lost its regional accreditation, to 2017, when it regained that accreditation, it operated as a part of El Camino College. [1] Before and after the partnership with El Camino College, the college was operated by the Compton Community College District.
