Adjara is well known for its humid climate (especially along the coastal regions) and prolonged rainy weather, although there is plentiful sunshine during the spring and summer months. Adjara receives the highest amounts of precipitation both in Georgia and in the Caucasus. It is also one of the wettest temperate regions in the northern hemisphere

Makhinjauri (Georgian: მახინჯაური [maχindʒauri]) is a small town in Adjara, Georgia, with the population of 735 according to the 2014 census. [1] It is located on the Black Sea coast, 5 km north of Batumi, the capital of Adjara, and functions as a seaside resort.
