The Carnival of Madeira (Portuguese: Carnaval da Madeira) is an annual festival held forty days before Easter, that ends on Shrove Tuesday (called Fat Tuesday in Madeira - Terça-feira Gorda in Portuguese) the day before Ash Wednesday (first day of Lent).
Portugal will be represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will be held in Basel, Switzerland. The Portuguese participating broadcaster, Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP), will organise the national final Festival da Canção 2025 in order to select its entry for the contest.
