WHFI is a classic hits formatted broadcast non-commercial educational radio station licensed in Lindside, West Virginia, serving Monroe County, West Virginia.The station also reaches into surrounding counties including Giles County, Virginia, Greenbrier, Mercer, Raleigh, and Summers Counties in West Virginia.
The station was founded in 1971 by John and Carol Babina. The Monroe Board of Education agreed to hold the FCC license for WMNR and provided facilities for the station at Masuk High School. [1] The equipment was paid for with donations from individual and businesses, and the station turned into a community project.
The West Monroe High School French Club competes at A.L.C.F.E.S. (Association Louisianaise des Clubs de Français des Écoles Secondaires) annually against the state's best public and private schools. Over the past few years, the club has done exceptionally well in theatre, media, and music.

Its original call letters were K17FV, but it received the requested KWMS-LP call sign in May 2002. The station's flagship programs were live services from First Baptist Church and sporting events from West Monroe High School.
