The Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology is an educational institute run under the aegis of the Chandrawati Education Society since 2000. [1] [2] The society is registered with the Registrar of Societies, Government of N.C.T. Delhi vide registration No. S.35514 of 1999, under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 with aim of providing quality technical education.
The institute was established in 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College (MREC), as a joint venture of the government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. [2] It was named after Madan Mohan Malaviya. V.G. Garde was its first principal. [citation needed] The college moved to the present campus in Jaipur in 1965. [7]
