Cage was introduced in Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #1 (June 1972); he was the first Black superhero to star in his own regular title. His series was renamed Power Man with issue #17 (1974) and then Power Man and Iron Fist with issue #50 (1978), when Iron Fist became his costar.
