The Carlingford railway line is a former heavy rail line in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.It was opened from Clyde to Subiaco (later renamed Camellia) in January 1885, then by means of the construction of a bridge across the Parramatta River, to Carlingford in April 1896.
The Carlingford railway line closed on 5 January 2020 with the original station demolished in May 2020, and rebuilt as a light rail station. [ 13 ] [ better source needed ] The station reopened on 20 December 2024 along with Stage 1 of the Parramatta Light Rail.

Parramatta station connects with the Parramatta Square light rail station on the L4 Westmead & Carlingford Line. [8] Parramatta station has a large bus interchange located on the west side of the station between platform 4 and Westfield Parramatta. It serves a large number of routes operated by Busways, CDC NSW, Transit Systems and U-Go Mobility.
