The Brisbane Tramway Museum Society was established in 1968, when it became apparent that the Brisbane City Council was preparing to close Brisbane's tram system. In 1972, a site at Ferny Grove was made available and a museum built, opening in June 1980.

Ferny Grove is one of the 89 electoral districts for the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Australia. Located in northwest Brisbane , it is named for the suburb of Ferny Grove . It was first created in 1992, and was represented by Labor from its creation until the 2012 election , in which the LNP won with a 59.5 percent two-party vote.
Ferny Grove State High School is a public secondary school in the suburb of Ferny Grove, in Brisbane, Australia. The school has a total enrolment of more than 1900 students, with an official count of 1961 students in 2023. [1] In 2007, the school won the award for the most innovative music program in Queensland. [2]

The line formerly extended to Dayboro, but was cut back to Ferny Grove in 1955, as part of a larger rationalisation by the Queensland Government of its railway lines.
