Marshall County is a county located in far western portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky.As of the 2020 census, the population was 31,659. [1] Its county seat is Benton. [2]It is the only Purchase Area county that does not border another state; a narrow strip of land in neighboring Livingston County separates Marshall County from the Ohio River and the Illinois border.

Jonathan Creek archaeological site is an important Mississippian-era (ca. A.D. 1000–1500) village and burial mound site, situated on the banks of the Tennessee River, located in the unincorporated town of Aurora in Marshall county, Kentucky. It was originally discovered and noted by Robert Loughridge in the late 19th century.
The Russell Lodge No. 284, also known as the Jamestown Masonic Lodge, on Public Square in Jamestown, Kentucky, is a Masonic Hall which was built in 1939. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. [1] It is a two-story stone building.
Mount Zion Covered Bridge was a 280 feet (85 m) long Burr truss covered bridge near Mooresville, Kentucky. [1] [2] It was built in 1871 and burned down in 2021.For 150 years it spanned the Little Beech Fork [2] north of Mooresville on Kentucky Route 458.

US 641 leads north 7 miles (11 km) to Benton , the county seat , and south 11 miles (18 km) to Murray .
