It is under the ownership of Ministry of Finance, Government of India.It was formed by merging three rural banks in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India namely Madhya Bharat Bank, Sharda Grameen Bank, Rewa Sidhi Grameen Bank, sponsored by State Bank Of India, Allahabad Bank and Union Bank of India.
The bank was formed by the amalgamation of Gramin Bank of Aryavart and Allahabad UP Gramin Bank. It currently has 1365 branches and 22 regional offices [ 2 ] in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh . It functions under Regional Rural Banks' Act 1976 and is sponsored by Bank of India .
