Miramar is a corregimiento in Chiriquí Grande District, Bocas del Toro Province, Panama.It has a land area of 26.9 square kilometres (10.4 sq mi) and had a population of 1,232 as of 2010, giving it a population density of 45.8 inhabitants per square kilometre (119/sq mi). [1]

The archipelago is part of the Bocas del Toro District which is part of Bocas del Toro Province. The area is 250 km 2 (97 square miles) which is about 60% of the district's area, and the population about 13,000, which is 75% of the district's population. The major city is Bocas del Toro, also called Bocas Town, on Isla Colón.
The town, in 2009, was home to 1,527 hotel rooms, [3] and was named Top Natural Wonder of Córdoba Province by a reader survey conducted by La Voz del Interior. [4] [5] Site of a wildlife refuge since 1966, Miramar is also home to the Loma de los Indios Birdwatching Station, and the Miramar Biological Station. [3]
The then government made a reservation called Bocas del Toro in 1834. In 1850, Bocas del Toro became a part of Chiriqui, then was separated from it and became part of Colon. On November 16, 1903, Bocas del Toro was separated from Colon and became its own province. In 1941, Bocas del Toro was divided into two districts, Bocas del Toro and Crimamola.
