National Trail Conference teams have won 18 state championships in IHSA sponsored athletics and activities, most recently the 2017 Class 1A boys state basketball championship, won by St. Anthony. NTC teams have won numerous regional and sectional titles and most have competed in the final four at least once in either boys or girls basketball.
The North Texas Mean Green track and field team is the track and field program that represents University of North Texas. The Mean Green compete in NCAA Division I as a member of the American Athletic Conference. The team is based in Denton, Texas at the Mean Green Soccer and Track & Field Stadium. St. Anthony of Padua competes in the National Trail Conference (NTC) and is also a member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). The teams compete as the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were awarded the Program of the Year by the Decatur Herald & Review after the 2016–17 school year. [3]
