Ichiban Kasuga (Japanese: 春日 一番, Hepburn: Kasuga Ichiban), also nicknamed Ichi (一), is a character from Sega's Ryu ga Gotoku media franchise, formerly known internationally as Yakuza. Ichiban is first introduced in the 2018 mobile game Ryu ga Gotoku ONLINE , a freemium collectible card game spin-off which is exclusively released in Japan.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon: In 2019, Ichiban Kasuga, a former member of the Tojo Clan's Arakawa Family, is released after eighteen years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. Expecting to be welcomed back, he instead discovers that his former patriarch has aligned himself and his family with the Omi Alliance and the police to destroy the Tojo Clan.
Yu Nanba (難波 悠, Nanba Yū) is one of Ichiban Kasuga's companions in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Nanba is a disbarred nurse who lives as a homeless man in Isezaki Ijincho. He uses his skills as a former health professional to nurse Ichiban back to health after the latter is dumped in the district's homeless area.
