Pentwater Township is a civil township of Oceana County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,652 at the 2020 census . [ 3 ] The Village of Pentwater is located within the township.
This estate was the birthplace of W.H.L McCourtie, a Somerset Center native who made his fortune in the Texas oil boom. McCourtie returned to Somerset Center in 1922 and built an estate as a social center of the town. Around 1930, McCourtie hired two itinerant Mexican artisans, George Cardoso and Ralph Corona, to build 17 concrete bridges here.

Pentwater is a village in Oceana County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 890 at the 2020 census . The village is located within Pentwater Township .
The business loop turned eastward, briefly following the county line before turning southeasterly to an interchange with US 31 on the Pentwater–Weare township line. [52] [62] US 31 was rerouted to run further east of Pentwater in 1955, and the former route through the village was redesignated as Bus. US 31 at that time.
In 1962 the Augustinians leased the Mansion to Augustinian cloistered nuns. In 1963 the Order of Saint Augustine constructed a Seminary on the Felt Estate. This preparatory school contained a chapel and housing for priests as well as students in grades 9–12. [3] In 1977 the Felt Estate was purchased by the State of Michigan.
Pentwater Lake is a water body adjacent to the village of Pentwater, Michigan. Its primary inlet is the Pentwater River ; its outlet is a man-made channel flowing into Lake Michigan . Pentwater Lake has a surface area of 431 acres (174 ha), a maximum depth of 50 feet (15 m), and an average depth of 27 feet (8.2 m).
