Some of the artwork in the Kimberley region of Western Australia dates back to approximately 4,000 years ago.
The guest curator was Brenda L Croft, Senior Curator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art. The exhibition was the largest survey show of Indigenous art at the NGA in over 15 years, and featured works by selected artists created during the previous three years.
