It was owned by the Hamilton Watch Company and was used as their headquarters from its founding in 1892 until 1980. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Emlen Urban and built in 1888. It is a brick building consisting of a three-story headhouse and two-story markethouse, in the Queen Anne style.
