The 1967–68 NCAA University Division men's basketball season began in December 1967, progressed through the regular season and conference tournaments, and concluded with the 1968 NCAA University Division basketball tournament championship game on March 23, 1968, at Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California.
It was won by Kentucky Wesleyan College, with Indiana State's Jerry Newsom named Most Outstanding Player. Uniquely, Indiana State has finished as the National Runner-up in the ( 1946 and 1948 ) NAIA Tournaments, the ( 1979 ) NCAA Division I Tournament, and the 1968 NCAA College Division Tournament.
The Wildcats finished first in the Southern Conference regular season standings and won the Southern Conference tournament to receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament – the school's fourth appearance in five years. Davidson finished win an overall record of 24–5 (9–1 SoCon).
They finished the season with a 22–4 record (11–1 WCAC) and made the NCAA tournament, reaching the Elite Eight before falling to mighty UCLA. They were led by second-year head coach Dick Garibaldi .

The 1968–69 St. Francis Terriers men's basketball team represented St. Francis College during the 1968–69 NCAA University Division men's basketball season. The team was coached by Daniel Lynch , who was in his twenty-first year at the helm of the St. Francis Terriers.
