Charles Elson Lively (September 29, 1890 – December 28, 1968) was an American sociologist and among the early pioneers in rural sociology.He conducted research into rural habits and ways of life in rural communities throughout the midwest, though most of his work focused on Ohio and Missouri.
In 1823, he migrated to Franklin, Missouri, for his health. [1] Marmaduke held a variety of jobs, including store clerking, managing a large farm, and working as a trader on the Santa Fe Trail, which became increasingly busy with traders and emigrants to western lands. [4]
In 1935 it took the name Consumers Cooperative Association (CCA), and in 1966 Farmland Industries, Inc. [1] At its peak, the organization was the leading agricultural cooperative in North America, owned by 1,700 farm cooperatives in the United States, Canada and Mexico, which cooperatives were in turn owned by more than 600,000 farmer families.
