The City of Dunedin objected to the new name, arguing that Mattick had no ties to the city.

USSSA Space Coast Complex is a baseball stadium and 13 diamond multi-sports facility in Viera, Florida, owned by Brevard County, Florida.Under its original name, Space Coast Stadium, it served as the spring training facility for the Florida Marlins (1994–2002), Montreal Expos (2003–2004), and Washington Nationals (2005–2016) and as the home field of the Brevard County Manatees (1994–2016).
By the end of 2016, with a great deal of support from private financial investors, the Coastal Florida Sports Park (FKA Cocoa Expo Sports Center) was renovated. The renovation cost $40 million and included the Major League spring training ballpark as well as eleven baseball and multi purpose fields, a hotel and indoor training center.
After first serving as a site for a half–mile race track, the ballpark was built by the Detroit Tigers as a practice field in 1908. Majestic Park then was upgraded to become the spring training site of the Boston Red Sox and their star pitcher Babe Ruth in 1909–10 and 1912–18.
