Three Rivers derives its name from its location at the confluence of the St. Joseph River and two tributaries, the Rocky and Portage rivers. [6] The St. Joseph River flows into Lake Michigan. The city is the home of St. Gregory's Abbey, a Benedictine monastery of the Episcopal Church, which was established in 1946.
Three Rivers Savings and Loan "south building" (101 S. Main), a single story buff brick Neo-Classical building trimmed with terra cotta, constructed in 1916. Public Library (107 N. Main), a 2-1/2 story cross-gable building constructed of rubble stone with shingled gables. It was built in 1904, and designed by A.W. Rush & Co. of Grand Rapids.
The Arthur Silliman House is a private house located at 116 South Main Street in Three Rivers, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, [1] and now houses The Historic Silliman Home and Blacksmith Shop. [2]
