In 1988, Marks was honored as a Distinguished Artist by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. She served as an Artist-in-Residence at the Newark Museum in 2003 and a residency at Anchor Graphics at Columbia College, Chicago, in 2011. In 2013, Marks was awarded the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant.
