Bixby is a city in Tulsa and Wagoner counties in the U.S. state of Oklahoma; it is a suburb of Tulsa. Its population was 28,609 at the 2020 census and 20,884 in the 2010 census, an increase of 13.70 percent [ 6 ] In 2010, Bixby became the 19th largest city in Oklahoma.

Guthrie was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended Tulsa Community College, earning his associate's degree in 2002. [1] He started a construction company before transitioning into real estate flipping. In 2011, he was appointed to the Bixby city council and he was elected mayor in 2019. [2]

It also has the largest per capita income in the TMA. Originally an agricultural community known as "The Garden Spot of Oklahoma", it has largely become a bedroom community in the Tulsa area.
The original part of SH-67, from Mounds to Bixby, was removed from the highway on December 31, 1937. [3] [6] SH-67 was re-extended to Bixby on June 7, 1943, following a more northerly route, branching off from US-75 in Kiefer, similar to the present-day one (although the final realignment of this section was not established until 1971).
