A three-phase I-80 construction project is set to start by end of year, overhauling the highway, bridges, ramps and exits and putting up sound barrier walls.
State Rep. Tarah Probst continues the fight for changes to the planned expansion of Interstate 80 through the Stroudsburg area as the project's first phase looms closer.
The project had a completion date of 2023, has been approved by PennDOT and the US Department of Transportation (USDOT), and is in the final design phase. The project will widen I-80 to three lanes in each direction between exit 298 and exit 308, as well as reconstruct all interchanges included in this part of the project.
