Walk Thru the Bible was founded in the United States in 1976 by Bruce Wilkinson and Howard Hendricks. Wilkinson, a pastor, had preached sermons on the topic and in 2000 asked Multnomah Books to publish his pocket-sized Prayer of Jabez prior to the National Day of Prayer. The book sold a record eight million copies in its first year of publication and was the bestselling nonfiction book of 2001. [ 4 ]
