If you encounter a harmless statement that lacks attribution, you can tag it with the {} template, or move it to the article's talk page with a comment requesting attribution. If the whole article is unsourced, you can use the {{ unreferenced }} template; for sections requiring sourcing, {{ unreferenced section }} is available.
Inline citations are usually small, numbered footnotes like this. [1] They are generally added either directly following the fact that they support, or at the end of the sentence that they support, following any punctuation. When clicked, they take the reader to a citation in a reference section near the bottom of the article.
They may legitimately be used in the lead section of an article or in a topic sentence of a paragraph when the article body or the rest of the paragraph can supply attribution. Likewise, views that are properly attributed to a reliable source may use similar expressions, if those expressions accurately represent the opinions of the source .
