The Chicago Shamrox were a professional lacrosse team based in Chicago, Illinois, that played in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2007 season was the Shamrox inaugural season. The franchise was awarded to the city of Chicago by the NLL on February 16, 2006, [1] and the name "Shamrox" was chosen in May 2006. [2]

Matthew Del Negro was born in Mount Kisco, New York, as the youngest of three children.He graduated from John Jay High School in Cross River, New York in 1990. [3] He is a graduate of Boston College, where he played Division I lacrosse.
