Xochitecatl [ʃot͡ʃiˈtekat͡ɬ] is a pre-Columbian archaeological site located in the Mexican State of Tlaxcala, 18 km southwest of Tlaxcala city. [1] The major architecture dates to the Middle Preclassic Period (1000–400 BC) but occupation continued, with one major interruption, until the Late Classic , when the site was abandoned.
Hours can be subject to change and it is advisable to check the INAH web site. The admission is 75 MXN on weekdays, and free on Sunday for Mexican Nationals. Permission to record videos costs another $50 MXN while photography is free. [2] Another nearby site associated with Cacaxtla is Xochitecatl which was a more public ceremonial complex.
